Senior Technical Designer

 

Main Responsibilities:

- Training  junior designers

- Dynamic exploration dialogue

- Level Streaming

- Multiplayer synchronization

- Game automation

Tasked with leading the design team in matters related to technical considerations, and acted as the liaison between design and programming to ensure both disciplines were communicating effectively and getting what they needed.

 

Technical considerations included how we would dynamically introduce idle dialogue throughout exploration that would blend naturally with interactions, and how we can ensure multiplayer sessions remained synched up on a cinematic-heavy project. As this was the first Dark Pictures game with extensive exploration/locomotion sections, it was important to shift design priorities in order to integrate the new puzzles with our existing workflow.

Throughout this project, I also was part of the interviewing process to hire new designers, and train up juniors to get them integrated with our pipeline and workflows.
